EC Green Paper: Copyright in the Knowledge EconomyThe Museums Copyright Group has responded to the European Commission's Green Paper in November 2008 which is an early chance to influence EC legislation on EC copyright law. The group has worked with many other cultural organisations like Collections Trust, JISC, LACA, The National Archive, British Library and SCONUL to share ideas and submissions. The Museums Copyright Group was formed in 1996 to answer an increasing number of concerns about copyright expressed by professionals working in the museums and galleries community. The Group now has members representing museums, galleries, archives and libraries including national and regional institutions, and those attached to universities and local authorities. The Museums Copyright Group provides 'best practice' advice on copyright matters. It cannot give legal advice on individual matters. Professional advice should always be sought in these situations.
